Rund achtzig Sukhoi Superjets fliegen heute schon Passagiere durch die Welt. Kürzlich hat Aeroflot als größte Betreiberin des heimischen Kurz- und Mittelstreckenflugzeuges das dreißigste Exemplar in ihre Flotte übernommen. Mehr sollen folgen. Mikhail Stupishin hat die russische Nationalairline ihren Neuzugang genannt – zu Ehren eines «legendären sowjetischen Piloten».
Wie die anderen Sukhoi Superjets wurde die Mikhail Stupishin (Kennzeichen: RA-89060) als Flugzeug Nr. 95103 in Komsomolsk am Amur gebaut. Knaapo nennen die Russen die Fabrik. Die Abkürzung steht für Flugzeugproduktionsgemeinschaft Komsomolsk am Amur. Es ist das größte Flugzeugfertigungswerk des Landes und entstand 1934 auf Befehl der Führung der Sowjetunion.
Eine Fabrik mit 13.500 Arbeitern
Heute werden im Werk Komsomolsk am Amur vor allem Militärflugzeuge gebaut. Aber auch die Endmontage des Sukhoi Superjets befindet sich hier im Russischen Fernen Osten. 13.500 Menschen arbeiten in der riesigen Fabrik.
Der russische Fotograf und Flugzeugfan Alexander Popow hat sie 2013 besucht und durfte die Herstellung des Sukhoi Superjets dokumentieren. Entstanden sind packende Bilder, die zeigen, wie viel Handarbeit in der Flugzeugproduktion bis heute steckt – und wie stolz man in Komsomolsk am Amur auf den neuen Flieger ist.
