At the end of June the European aviation authority suspended Pakistan International Airlines‘ permission to land. After it became to light that 40 percent of the national airline's pilots had invalid licenses, the airline's jets are no longer allowed to land at European airports until the end of the year. Nevertheless, PIA plans to offer flights to Europe again as early as August 14.
Pakistan International will offer flights to London, Manchester, and Birmingham. The flights are important for the Pakistani diaspora living in the United Kingdom. This is made possible by a wet-leasing partner from Europe.

The aircraft used comes from Europe and European crews fly the aircraft. An Airbus A330-900 from the Portuguese company Hi Fly is used, as reported by the portal Pakistan Today. Normally PIA flew to Europe with Boeing 777.
