The uncertainty associated with the spread of the coronavirus is too great prompts many passengers to keep from flying for now. In addition, many large corporations have cancelled business trips for the time being. As many other airlines, Lufthansa has already had to cut capacity massively. And: 50 percent less capacity also means empty airports. That is why the German Airline has decided to not only cut back on flights, but also on the lounge offering.

After its subsidiary Swiss had already announced that it would be closing some of its lounges in Zurich and Geneva, Lufthansa will soon be doing the same. From 14 March, the First Class Lounge in Area B in Frankfurt will close, a spokeswoman confirmed to aeroTELEGRAPH. On the same day the Business Lounge in Area B44/B-East will close. The Panorama Lounge will be closed from 16 March.

Milan and Munich also affected

At Milan airport, which is located in one of the biggest risk areas, Lufthansa's lounge will also remain closed for the time being. And in Munich, the offering will be reduced as well. From 14 March, the First Class Lounge in the satellite will close. Already closed are the Senator Lounge at altitude G23/G24 and the self-service area Delights to Go.
