Airbus had to accept several cancellations in March, but also received new orders. The biggest decrease is due to Latam. The South American airline wants only two Airbus A350-1000 instead of eight and 13 A350-900 instead of 17. Delta Air Lines had actually announced that they would take delivery of 14 Airbus A350s from Latam. In the Airbus order book, however, Delta's order for the model is unchanged.

Kuwait Airways also reduced its order from ten to only five Airbus A350-900s. In return, an unknown customer ordered ten A350-900s. With regard to the A330-900, the leasing company Avolon reduced its order from 13 to only ten. CIT Leasing wants only 25 of the long-range jets instead of 26. There were no new A330 orders.

36 aircraft delivered

Leasing company Aercap placed an order for 25 A320 Neo and 25 A321 Neo with Airbus in March. It did not matter so much that other customers cancelled orders for seven A320 Neo and two A321 Neo. For the A220-300, Airbus cancelled an old order from Saudi Gulf for 16 aircraft, which should have been taken off the books a year ago.

Despite the cancellations, the European aircraft manufacturer even increased its net orders from 274 at the end of February to 290 at the end of March. Airbus was able to deliver 36 planes in March. Since the beginning of the year, customers have thus accepted a total of 122 aircraft from Airbus. Due to the corona crisis, however, Airbus is now significantly reducing production.
