After their parent company Thomas Cook Group had gone under, they fought on bravely on their own. And they were able to hold on for several months. But last December the Spanish Thomas Cook Airline Balearics had to give up, this April the German Thomas Cook Aviation followed.
The two Thomas Cook daughters and Condor sisters filed for insolvency. But now there are signs of life of them. Thomas Cook Aviation moved its headquarters from Oberursel to Frankfurt in April and changed its name at the same time. It is now called Travel Carrier Network.
Most recently on the road for Condor
According to company sources, the company is planning to start up as a «small airline». But it is still «working intensively on a comprehensive restructuring and a precise concept for the future». Thomas Cook Aviation in the end operated six Airbus A320 and A321 on behalf of Condor.
Thomas Cook Airlines Balearics has also recently operated several Airbus A320s on behalf of Condor. It is now to be taken over by German investors. The portal Aviacion Digital writes that Panaf Holdings wants to buy the Spanish airline and continue operating it in a smaller form.
Corporate circles confirm the plans to AeroTELEGRAPH. However, no definitive contract has yet been signed, they say.
