Zum 80. Geburtstag hat der größtlughafen des Vereinigten Königreichs erstmals einen Poet-in-Residence ernannt. Der britische Bestsellerautor und Poet David Larbi schrieb dafür das Gedicht Gateway to the World, das in riesigen Buchstaben in ein Feld nahe des Flughafens London-Heathrow eingearbeitet wurde und nur aus der Luft sichtbar ist.
Larbi erhielt Zugang zum gesamten Flughafenbetrieb und sprach mit mehr als 30 Mitarbeitenden. Inspiriert von diesen Begegnungen entstand eine Hommage an die Geschichte des Flughafens London-Heathrow, die Bedeutung des Luftverkehrs und die Menschen hinter dem Betrieb.
