South Korean airlines are also resuming international flights in June. For many it is a new start after the long break due to the covid-19 pandemic. For one, however, it will also be a also premiere. T'Way Air has received permission from the South Korean Ministry of Transport to operate flights to Croatia.
So far the budget airline has been flying to places in East Asia and the Pacific islands of Guam and Saipan. Earlier this year, CEO Jeong Hong-geun announced his intention to expand the service to include long-haul routes. His sights are set on Europe and the USA. Jeong explicitly named Frankfurt as a destination, London, Paris and Rome are to follow later.
Airbus or Boeing aircraft
But now Zagreb is at the start. T'Way Air wants to start the route in the second half of the year. The airline wants to lease long-haul aircraft from Airbus or Boeing for its new routes. Currently the fleet consists of 17 leased Boeing 737-800.
