Soon Aeroflot will start the modernization of its fleet. The Russian national carrier wants to add up to 22 Airbus A350-900 to its fleet. In 2020, the first eight of the 14 aircraft ordered so far will be delivered. The first of these rolled out of the factory in Toulouse these days.

Not only the missing engines show that there is still some work to be done on the long-haul aircraft. Most of the paintwork is also missing. The green primer dominates - but not completely. The tail fin and the winglets have already been painted. As pictures published on social media show, it looks like Aeroflot might make adjustments to its livery with the delivery of the A350.

No more red?

As with the previous colour scheme, a waving Russian flag on a blue background decorates the fin of the Airbus A350. But in contrast to the previous design, it takes up considerably more space and covers almost the entire tail fin. The current design shows much more blue in the background.

The winglets also show a change. So far, they have appeared in orange-red. On the new aircraft they are equipped with a Russian flag on a blue background, similar to the fin. So far, there is no official statement from Aeroflot about what the paint will look like and whether it will apply to the entire fleet. A request from aeroTELEGRAPH on the subject has remained unanswered so far.
