New government Aircraft

First A350 for the German government sports it’s livery

The German government is to receive three Airbus A350s. In Hamburg, the first of them has now been spotted in the colours of the Air Force.

A missile defence system, A large conference room, offices and military radio equipment: The Airbus A350-900 with the serial number MSN 416 is not going to be an ordinary passenger plane. It is one of three brand-new long-haul aircraft that will join the fleet of the German Federal Ministry of Defence’s Air Force. In April, the first A350 will go to Lufthansa Technik in Hamburg, where it will receive the special equipment.

Last February the first copy was already spotted at Airbus in Toulouse. Still completely without any paint, a tow truck pulled the future German state aircraft along the apron. This has now changed. Last Friday (20 March), the first A350 for Germany’s Air Force was on display at the Airbus plant in Hamburg-Finkenwerder. The aircraft now wears the colours of Germany and the A350-typical Zorro mask on the cockpit windows.

In the picture gallery above, you can see pictures of the Airbus A350 in the paint scheme of the German Air Force.
