Special flight over France

Air France will have their A380 do a farewell lap

Passengers will never take off again with an Air France Airbus A380. However, airline employees will be able to enjoy one last flight on Friday.

The farewell came sooner than expected: Air France actually wanted to retire its last nine Airbus A380s by the end of 2022. But due to the corona crisis, the airline announced «the definite end of Airbus A380 operations» already in May.

So that the superjumbo won’t disappear secretly, quietly and silently, Air France is sending one of them on a farewell lap on Friday (June, 26). In the afternoon, the A380 with registration mark F-HPJH will take off from Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport, circle around France for about two hours and then return to Paris. On board will be A380 crews and other jet-related personnel as well as handpicked guests.
